Lighthouse Wins Ninth Golden Trumpet
The Chicago Lighthouse added another prestigious Golden Trumpet to its award case on June 1, this one for its 2016 Annual Report, “Leading Edge.”
Sponsored by the Publicity Club of Chicago, the nation’s largest association of independent PR professionals, the Golden Trumpet is the “Oscar” of the public relations profession locally. It is given each year for outstanding achievement in communications.
The annual report spotlighted the accomplishments of several young professionals, who are blind or visually impaired. Shown posing in a group photo on the cover, they were all monitored by The Lighthouse and are now pursuing promising careers in law, broadcasting, journalism and other areas.
The award was presented to Creative Director Lisa Birmingham and Senior Vice President Dominic Calabrese in a gala ceremony at the Palmer House Hotel. The colorful event featured a keynote address from former presidential advisor David Axelrod.
It is the ninth Golden Trumpet that the agency has won since 2006. Previous awards were given for The Lighthouse’s successful efforts in media and community relations.
The PR/Creative team has also taken home three Silver Trumpets.
