Our Professionals with Vision Loss Support Group provides a warm and welcoming environment where you can openly discuss your low vision challenges and triumphs. Our members listen, support, and offer valuable guidance based on their experiences, and they understand the emotional impact low vision can have on your professional and personal life. We provide a safe space for you to share your concerns, seek advice, and receive the emotional support you need to thrive on your own terms.

Meetings are monthly and are held virtually. They are facilitated by Dr. Susan Wilson, who worked as an emergency physician in Milwaukee for 25 years. She was diagnosed with myopic retinopathy in 2015, and the condition forced her retirement in 2019.

Dr. Susan Wilson

Wanting to continue to engage with her colleagues in medicine, she became a certified physician peer coach and has subsequently provided coaching support to those in healthcare. Dr. Wilson has a special interest in the topics of mental fitness and post-traumatic growth and has seen how these concepts have helped her come to terms with her own vision loss. She is now sharing these insights with other professionals who are also challenged by visual impairment. You can learn more about her work at SJWprofessionalcoaching.com.
