Why Wait until Valentine’s Day to Share the Love?
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it’s never too early to get a jump start on sharing the love and enjoying your favorite sweets (without all the guilt). This Thursday (February 7), you can join The Chicago Lighthouse Junior Board to share the love with children who are blind or visually impaired by coming out to their annual benefit supporting critical Children’s programs at The Chicago Lighthouse, and enjoying great hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and the most decadent dessert display you can imagine from the most popular bakeries in Chicago!
Share the love this Thursday at Sweets for Sights! Proceeds from the event benefit Children’s Programs at The Chicago Lighthouse.
Since 2009, the Junior Board has hosted their annual Sweets for Sight event to raise funds for critical programs at The Lighthouse for children who are blind or visually impaired. This cause is particularly close to the heart of Junior Board Co-Chair Joel Bruckman, who received services from the organization as a child. Supporting this event is just one of the ways he gives back for all the resources and support he and his family were provided. “The Lighthouse makes sure that those dealing with blindness and visual disabilities are provided with resources and the best care possible,” he said.
The Chicago Lighthouse Junior Board hosts this sell-out event each year to raise funds for The Chicago Lighthouse.
This year’s event will be held at Carnivale (702 W. Fulton St.) in Chicago’s trendy West Loop. It starts at 6:00 and goes until 9:00 p.m., so it’s perfect for some after-work fun while connecting with friends and supporting a wonderful cause. Sweets for Sight has a tendency to sell out, so don’t wait too long to get your tickets. Carnivale’s delicious hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served throughout the evening. A DJ will also be playing your favorite songs all night.

And we can’t forget about the sweets! At the center of it all will be an extravagant display of cookies, cakes, brownies, cupcakes, cake pops and…Mookies? If you don’t know what a Mookie is, you’ll have a chance to try one at the event! Guests are welcome to try as many treats as their heart desires…it’s like an endless buffet of desserts!
