Endowing Employment

Envision the Future Endowment Campaign logo: a half circle with a compass inside

Having a job is more than collecting a paycheck. It provides a sense of purpose.  Creating job opportunities has been a core tenet of The Chicago Lighthouse’s mission since its founding.

Infographic stating 70% of people who are blind are unemployed

Seventy percent of people between the ages of 18 and 65 who are blind or visually impaired are not employed. The Chicago Lighthouse provides job training and opportunities for our clients so that they can build the confidence needed to live independently.
We proudly employ many people who are blind, visually impaired, disabled, and Veterans throughout The Chicago Lighthouse. In addition, Employment Services Program works with outside employers to provide placement and support for Veterans and people with disabilities.
Your gift to our Endowment will help continue our legacy of providing purpose through meaningful employment.
