Preschool Update

As of June 30, 2022, The Chicago Lighthouse will no longer operate a preschool program. Since opening in 2006, the Judy and Ray McCaskey Preschool has helped hundreds of children who are blind, visually impaired, disabled or facing socio-economic challenges become kindergarten ready and become lifelong learners. However, a variety of factors, including financial challenges at the State and local levels and greater inclusion rates in other preschool programs, we arrived at the difficult decision to close our school.

In 2024, we will be expanding our Children’s Development Center, which currently provides comprehensive educational services for elementary, middle school, high school and post-high school students with severe disabilities.
