Forsythe Entrepreneurial Center

The Forsythe Entrepreneurial Center provides business training for people who are blind through educational workshops and programs. Whether they are looking for a job, wanting a better job, or interested in being their own boss, the FEC helps clients develop the business skills needed to thrive.

Forsythe Entrepreneurial Center (FEC)

The Chicago Lighthouse’s Forsythe Entrepreneurial Center (formerly the Forsythe Center for Employment & Entrepreneurship at Hadley) empowers adults with vision loss or blindness to thrive in their business ventures through three core elements:

  • Business, academic, technology and other training needed to obtain a license to vent on municipal property under the Randolph-Sheppard Business Enterprise Program (BEP).
  • Free, accessible workshop training videos to help clients understand how to incorporate assistive technology to understand and use business tools and software, including Microsoft Excel.
  • A competition to provide seed funding for people who are blind or visually impaired to pursue their entrepreneurial business dreams. Details will be coming soon.
