Lauren Nguyen

​Lauren, who goes by LR, graduated with a Master’s from Northern Illinois University in 2026. She completed her clinical internship at the Hines VA Hospital Blind Rehabilitation Center and is an ACVREP Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist (COMS). LR has professional experience working with both children and adults. She values the emotional journey of vision rehabilitation, balancing empathy with the structured skills clients need to navigate their communities with confidence. Her background in audiology brings a unique perspective to supporting sensory loss. She also provides instruction in Spanish, American Sign Language and Vietnamese. As part of The Chicago Lighthouse O&M team, she is dedicated to advancing the center’s mission of independence and empowerment.
