Dominic Calabrese

Senior Vice President, Public Relations

An award-winning public relations professional, Dominic has held senior-level positions in academia, government and non-profit sectors. For his work in media relations, he has been the lead recipient of five Golden Trumpet Awards for outstanding achievement from the Publicity Club of Chicago (PCC).  He is also a co-recipient of several other Golden and Silver Trumpet Awards for his contributions to The Lighthouse’s annual reports as a writer and photographer.  In addition, Dominic has won the prestigious Pub Clubber Award for exemplary service to PCC.  Among his major accomplishments are obtaining a placement about The Lighthouse’s 2018 Public Art Display, which celebrated access and inclusion for people with disabilities, on CBS Sunday Morning (July 22, 2018).  He also persuaded the acclaimed PBS series, “The Visionaries,” to profile The Lighthouse in an episode that aired nationally and in Chicago in the spring of 2018.  In addition, Dominic is credited for placing a front-page profile of The Lighthouse’s clock-making operation in The Wall Street Journal in February, 2005. An adjunct professor at Columbia College Chicago, Dominic is President of PCC, the nation’s largest independent public relations organization.  He is a former VISTA volunteer and current Lion who earned a BA degree (cum laude) from Dominican University and did graduate work at the University of Cincinnati.
