LOW VISION PRODUCTS SHOW

  We’re taking our store on the road and everyone is invited!

The Products Road Show welcomes the public to experience state of the art technology such as CCTV, portable reading devices, GPS, and many more including independent living aides, lighting, and even sunwear.  Test each product and receive training from our expert staff who can advise on the right tools to improve your daily life.

Absolutely free! Everyone is invited and can come at anytime.  The Chicago Lighthouse staff will demonstrate, explain and let you try the variety of products available for help with school, work and daily life.

The Latest in Low Vision Devices

• Independent Living - talking clocks and watches, kitchen items, large button phones and cell phones, sunglasses of all types including the new fit-over models 
• Computer Aides – keyboards, accessibility software, speech to text dictation programs
• Technology – voice activated GPS, reading devices such as the Intel Reader which takes a picture of text and reads it aloud. The new Synergy CCTV video magnifier in striking natural color.  Portable hand-held CCTV magnifiers to read and write anywhere!

Recent News about our Shows...

The first Chicago Lighthouse Low Vision product show in the south suburbs was a big success! There were 79 attendees both from the Oasis Low Vision group from Orland Park, as well as many Chicago Lighthouse low vision patients and their families. Over 150 items were on display from sunglasses and canes to independent living aids and special technology. The latest in computers, readers, CCTV's and portable video magnifiers were displayed and sold. A special lunch was also provided. Many positive comments such as "We see items in catalogs, but to come and try all these items, I feel like a kid in a candy store" said Kim Kuster, coordinator with her husband Joe who is blind of the local Oasis group.
