Job Readiness and Placement Program

This is an image of our employment staff. The full-service program provides resume and cover letter writing, interviewing techniques and job leads.  Job leads come from several sources: Internet, cold calls, and direct leads from employers.  While preparing for an interview, individuals are counseled on the types of questions to ask during an interview, the manner in which to conduct oneself, and how to handle questions that may arise regarding a disability.  The placement staff also works closely with employers, educating them about the awareness of visual impairments and performing task analysis in order to assist in the coordination of job modification efforts.

Supported Employment:
For people who are multi-disabled and have limited or no work experience.  Staff members provide job coaching and on-the-job training.  Over weeks or months, they assist employees in integrating into work environments and help supervisors learn how to adapt their supervision to individuals.

Competitive Employment:
Functions like any other head-hunter or employment agency, with the addition of providing an environment adapted for people who are visually impaired.
