The Chicago Lighthouse is Accepting 2012-2013 Scholarship Applications Until March 30th

All students who are blind, visually impaired, or multi-disabled, and are enrolling in post-secondary education for the 2012-2013 school year, are encouraged to apply for our Scholarship Awards. The Lighthouse accepts applications nation-wide, and gives priority to students who reside in Illinois or attend school in Illinois.

The Chicago Lighthouse’s scholarship program is the second largest of its kind in the country, just behind the National Federation of the Blind’s scholarship program.  Since the program’s inception in 2004, the Lighthouse has assisted more than 200 students in pursuing their dreams of a college education.

“All of our scholarship winners embody hope, courage, determination, sacrifice and the desire to excel,” said Dr. Janet Szlyk, president and executive director of The Chicago Lighthouse.

The completed application deadline is March 30th, 2012 by 5 pm.  Applications may be submitted in print or Braille via FedEx, UPS or US Mail with confirmation of delivery.  Completed applications may be dropped off at The Chicago Lighthouse, 1850 W. Roosevelt Road, 60608.  Applications are not accepted via e-mail or fax.

Students will need to complete a 2012 Scholarship Application and Vision Report to apply (Vision Report is included in the Application). Click the link below to download the 2012 Scholarship Awards Application.
