Lighthouse Hosts 38th Annual Special Games

The Chicago Lighthouse’s outdoor garden was literally transformed into a mini field of dreams on Friday, June 2!

That’s where students in our Children’s Development Center (CDC) for students with multi-disabilities and our blended Preschool participated in the agency’s 38th Annual Special Games.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our children to show everyone all the things they can do,” noted Principal Lee Burklund in her welcoming remarks.

The games included T-Ball, bowling, a bean bag toss, basketball and bouncy house.  View photos on our Facebook page!

Afterwards, students enjoyed a delicious lunch of pizza and salad.

Special guests were former Lighthouse Board Member and retired WGN-TV sportscaster Rich King, and his wife, April.

We extend our deepest appreciation to volunteers from Softchoice for assisting with the event.
