Support a Job for Someone Who is Blind

More than 70% of people between the ages of 18 and 65 who are blind or visually impaired are not employed.

We're changing that!

Ever since it was established back in 1906, finding jobs for people who are blind has been an integral part of The Lighthouse’s mission. Our first employment program, for example, had people who were blind making broomsticks. Today, our Lighthouse Industries program has the exclusive contract to make clocks for the U.S. government. Approximately 85% of the employees are visually impaired and they manufacture 250,000 clocks a year, which are distributed worldwide. We also have developed an extensive customer service business, which employs hundreds of people, many of whom are blind, visually impaired, disabled and Veterans.
