Location: Scoozi!, 410 W Huron, Chicago
Tickets: $125 each or ten for $1,000
Tickets can be purchased at the door on the night of the event.
Uncorked, which is produced by the Young Philanthropists Board at The Chicago Lighthouse, raises funds for families with children dealing with visual impairment and blindness. Tickets include an all-inclusive wine tasting from vineyards around the world, wine throughout the evening, as well as a dinner buffet of wood fired pizzas, salads, pastas and desserts. Our host for Uncorked 2009 is NBC 5 news anchor Marion Brooks, a volunteer at the Lighthouse and well known as an advocate for a wide variety of charitable causes. Last year’s event netted nearly $13,000 for Seeing Is Believing (which provides free early-intervention vision screenings to Chicago Public School students) and the Illinois Parents of the Visually Impaired.
We believe that the event is going to be even better this year than last, thanks to the addition of a professionally guided tasting of 20 wines from noted wineries such as Louis Jadot, Cakebread, Burgess, Torrederos and others. This new feature will allow all attendees to try wines offered by some of the same vineyards that have donated wines to our silent auction and raffle, which are rapidly developing a reputation for its value and breadth of offerings. View complete list now.
Thanks to the participation of our Retail Sponsor, Schaefer’s Fine Wines & Spirits, event attendees may order any of the wines they sample during the tasting or with dinner while at Uncorked. 10% of the purchase price will be donated back to The Chicago Lighthouse, so don’t restock your cellar until you’ve seen us on September 23rd!
With a ticket price of only $125, Uncorked is arguably one of the best values on the Chicago charitable event calendar. (Must be 21 years of age.)
