To call attention to the challenges facing Jasper Dunistra, a student enrolled in The Chicago Lighthouse’s school who is coping with Batten Disease, a condition impacting the ability to walk, think, see and speak, NBC 5 aired a profile of Jasper during its 5 pm newscast on Friday, January 22.

The segment, reported by Lee Ann Trotter, included interviews with his parents as well as his instructor, Mike Webb, and Mary Zabelski, who directs the school.  It coincided with the weekend release of a new Harrison Ford movie, "Extraordinary Measures," about a father trying to save his own son from the consequences of a life-threatening illness.
