Patricia Grant, M.S., Director of Low Vision Research, has been involved with VA research for seven years in collaboration with the Jesse Brown VAMC and the University of Illinois at Chicago, Department of Ophthalmology.  She has also been instrumental in providing training for patients with macular disease in our reading rehabilitation program funded by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Her research interests include methods for assessing vision loss in retinal diseases, health promotion and eye disease prevention, and investigating the relationship between the psychological status and visual function of patients with low vision. 

She is a student member the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the Minority Students for the Advancement of Public Health Organization at UIC.

She has an educational background in psychology and recently obtained her Master’s of Science Degree in Public Health Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago, with a concentration in behavioral sciences and health promotion.
