Bruce Foudree
Mr. Foudree concentrates in corporate and regulatory insurance law. He regularly provides legal advice and representation to U.S. and foreign clients on corporate and regulatory insurance matters. His clients include insurers, brokers, as well as businesses and groups of insureds who seek to create their own insurance programs.
Mr. Foudree has thirty-seven years of experience as a lawyer including thirty years of experience in all areas of insurance and insurance regulation. He served as Insurance Commissioner of Iowa (1980-86) and Chairman and President of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (1984 & 1985).
He holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
During his tenure as Insurance Commissioner, Mr. Foudree chaired the NAIC Midwestern Zone from 1981-1985. He also served on and chaired numerous NAIC committees and task forces including the Integrated Financial Services Task Force, the International Insurance Relations Task Force, and the Joint NAIC/NCOIL Committee.
Mr. Foudree has testified before Congress and state legislatures and has appeared as an expert witness in numerous state and federal courts on insurance issues. He has written and spoken on a variety of insurance topics over the years including intellectual property rights and insurance.
Mr. Foudree served as a member of the United States Trade Representative Intergovernmental Policy Advisory Committee, appointed by Ambassador Brock, 1984 - 1986. And he became the first insurance commissioner the serve as member of the United States Trade Mission to the Insurance Committee of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) for which he served from 1982 - 1986.
Mr. Foudree served as a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Journal of Insurance Regulation from 1982 - 1989.
He currently serves as a founding member of the Insurance Regulatory Examiners Society Foundation, which he chaired from in 1999 and 2000.
He has been recognized in both Who's Who In American Law and Who’s Who In America since 1998.
