Arturo Saenz
Mr. Saenz is the Co-founder and CEO of GSG Consultants, Inc., a client-oriented full-service environmental consulting and engineering firm with full Turn Key Environmental Services capabilities. Since its inception in 1992, GSG has served a wide variety of clients, which includes major school districts, land developers, real estate companies, government entities, and many Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Saenz is also Co-owner and Vice President of Stat Analysis Corporation, a full-service environmental and industrial hygiene laboratory located in Chicago, Illinois. STAT has consistently demonstrated unparalleled professional services to its wide range of clients for many years and during the last three years, has expanded analytical capabilities and analytical consulting services three-fold.
From 2000 through 2006 Mr. Saenz served on the board of the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association (HACIA). This is a 25-year-old business membership organization whose mission is to promote the participation of its members in public and private construction projects throughout the Chicago land area. HACIA was founded to prevent discriminatory practices in the construction industry. Throughout its history, HACIA has been an effective advocate not only of Hispanic-owned businesses in the construction industry but has grown to be seen as a valuable resource to responsible majority-owned firms who seek to include MBE and WBE businesses in their work. In a 1998, Hispanic magazine described Arturo Saenz’ firm GSG as the 5th fastest growing Hispanic company in the United States.
Mr. Arturo Saenz was born in Mexico, and is the second oldest of five children of Francisco and Margarita Saenz. His family moved to Elgin, Illinois when Arturo was five years old. Arturo attended Grant Elementary School and Kimball Junior High School. While at Kimball, Arturo played basketball and football, and competed in track and field. Arturo attended Larkin High School, while at Larkin Arturo ran in track and field. Arturo graduated from Elgin’s Larkin High School in 1983. The Saenz family attended St. Joseph Church on Division Street in Elgin. Arturo was, confirmed, and received his first Holy Communion at St. Joseph.
Arturo attended Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois majoring in Electrical Engineering. While at Northern Illinois University, Arturo was a member and President of the Organization of Latin American Students (OLAS) and Movimiento Estundantil Chicano de Azlan (MECHA). He also volunteered to tutor students in mathematics. In 1988, Arturo graduated from college with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Arturo is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Environmental Management from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois, expected completion will be in the winter of 2008.
Mr. Arturo Saenz has a wife Janette, a seven year old daughter Emma Maria, a five year old son Francisco Arturo, and a 3 year old daughter Camila Rosa.
