Fill out the website Waiver/Agreement form to Join Team Lighthouse. Then you will be directed to your FirstGiving.com account to set up your own personalized fundraising page.
How much am I required to raise for The Lighthouse in order to be a member of Team Lighthouse and run the 2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon?
We require a minimum fundraising goal of $1,000 if you join Team Lighthouse. Credit card information will be collected at the time of registration but will only be used if you do not meet your fundraising goal by race day—Monday, October 1, 2012.
- What is the cost to register with the 2012 Bank of America Chicago Marathon itself?
The cost of registration is $150 for all runners.
- Is there a maximum amount I can raise for The Lighthouse?
There is NO maximum! We encourage you to set a personal goal for yourself above and beyond the $1,000.
- What if I can’t meet the minimum?
We will bill your credit card on file for the remainder.
- How do I create a fundraising page?
Go to: Firstgiving.com – Lighthouse page
Here you will be able to both register for the event with The Lighthouse and set up your very own, personalized fund raising page.
- Click on the green “Fundraise” button
- Register by entering quantity, 1. Enter register.
- Create a FirstGiving account. Agree to the terms and conditions. Push create account.
- Create your fundraising page. Personalize it with pictures and information on why you are supporting the Lighthouse and why you
- are running the marathon.
- What is your personal minimum to raise? $1,000, $2,500, $5,000, $10,000?
- Support your efforts by starting off with a personal donation - start the race off on the right foot!
- What if I receive a check donation? Can this be added to my fundraising total?
Of course! Send checks, made out to: The Chicago Lighthouse, 1850 W. Roosevelt Rd., Chicago, IL 60608. Then you can credit the funds to your personal fundraising page and label them as “offline donations”. Please notate the envelope – Special Events/Marathon.
- What if I already signed up for the marathon but want to run for Team Lighthouse? Can I do this?
You can absolutely still run for Team Lighthouse! Simply fill out the Waiver/Agreement on this site.
